Zovirax Cold Sore Cream is indicated in adults and children for the treatment of cold sore which is an infection caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Directions:
You should apply the cream as soon as a cold sore is felt.
Adults and Children:Apply five times a day at four hourly intervals for five days.
If healing is not complete after five days, the treatment can be continued for up to five days more.

Zovirax is used to treat viral infections. It belongs to a class of drugs called antivirals. It works by stopping the growth of viruses. Zovirax contains aciclovir as its active ingredient. This medication is used to treat conditions like genital herpes, cold sores, and shingles (herpes zoster).
Acyclovir is an antiviral drug used to treat infections caused by certain types of viruses. It also used to treat herpes infections (herpes labialis, herpes zoster, and shingles) and other viral infections.
Take Zovirax as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Zovirax may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time. Do not take it more often than once a day. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember. If it is close to the next dose, double the time. Keep taking the medicine even if you feel better. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
Some side effects of Zovirax are mild, while others can cause allergic reactions, stomach upset, dizziness, nausea, vomiting or breathing difficulties. If you experience any of these effects, contact your doctor immediately.

Zovirax-5%-Topical-Ointment
This medication is used to treat the first few days of an infection. The full course of treatment is spread by mouth. This medication will help you get better. Only take this medication if you are cures your first infection. Consult your doctor if you are not sure. Can take 1 hour before a disease. Can be taken twice daily.
Can cause mild headache, indigestion, diarrhoea, constipation, and stomach pain. Swelling (especially of the stomach and/or intestines) may also occur. If this does occur, you may feel unwell. Can cause stomach pain, bloating, tiredness and increased need for fatty foods. Can cause irritation of the throat. Can cause irritation of the eyes. Can cause itching of the skin. Can cause irritation of the skin (vagina) which may occur. If this occurs, do not take this medication. Stop taking this medication and seek medical attention any if it is ever present. If the symptoms do not improve or if new symptoms appear, then get medical help right away. However, if your condition does not improve after 1 week, or if it gets worse at any time, you may require a different medication, or surgery, which can be costly.
